The Glasgow Symphony Orchestra is an amateur orchestra established in 1975. Our members range in age from 18 to over 80! We rehearse on a Tuesday evening in the West End and perform three times a year in venues across Glasgow, often joined by soloists.  Our repertoire is mostly, but not exclusively, classical, and we perform music by both major composers and those less-well-known. Learn more about us here and enquire about joining here!

Our next concert will be on June 3rd 2026, in Sherbrooke Mosspark Parish Church.

Our Next Concert

Join us for our summer concert on June 6th 2026, 7.30pm, Sherbrooke Mosspark Parish Church

For the final concert of the year we're performing

Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz

We are also thrilled to be joined by our special guests 'The Glasgow Phoenix Choir' for some joint numbers.

The Glasgow Phoenix Choir, famously, arose from the ashes of Sir Hugh Roberton’s excellent Glasgow Orpheus Choir in 1951. They are currently approaching the end of their 75th season of choral excellence. Their conductor, Cameron Murdoch joined them in 1987 as Accompanist and Depute Conductor, taking over as conductor in 2019. Many of the pieces in the current Phoenix repertoire were arranged by Cameron.

They perform many concerts every year, the majority of which raise money for charity and each involves a range of music from choral standards to new music and, in addition, features many

delightful solo performances from choir members.  For further

information about the choir, you can find their website at http://www.phoenixchoir.org

Tickets are available online, on the door, or from members.
